Currently, there are popping up no-code tools like nothing else, but are they really useful, and will developers soon be unemployed?
This article is about my perspective as a creative designer and developer and how no-code tools have affected my life.

My old view on No-Code Tools

A year ago I thought No-Code Tools have a lot of limitations and you don’t have any creative space to do things that are new and unique. I just thought that there are platforms like, wix.com or jimdo, these are modular website builders with prebuild websites. You’re just able to change the text, images, and some colors, that’s okay for small businesses who just need a website, but it’s pretty limited space with a very small amount of freedom.

I didn’t know about other tools with more freedom, I thought you have to know how to code to create fancy things with nearly no limitations

About 3 months ago - The Mindchanger

I was scrolling through Product Hunt and one project catched my eye:

Bravo Studio — A No-Code App Solution

Bravo Studio Landing Page

Let me give you a short explanation of how Bravo works, you start designing and prototyping your App in Figma (Adobe XD Beta also available). Now just import your Figma File via Link Sharing and voila you have transformed a prototype into a real App, which is publishable to the App and Play Store. The crazy part, that’s not a dirty web app or something like that, the Figma Design is transformed into native code. If that’s not enough, there is also the function to implement “Bravo Tags” into your Figma file. For example, you want to have an input field, just add to the name of the layer “[component:input-text]” and that’s it. You have just created an input field. (There are a lot of other Bravo Tags: Master List of every Bravo Tag)

My Experience with Bravo Studio

I started to do some experiments with Bravo and started to create a small app in Bravo and it worked awesomely, I also did some IG Posts and Collaborations with Bravo Studio.
After that mind-changing time, there came a phase where I had a lot of other stuff to do and have seen Bravo Studio from a more distant perspective and realized that Bravo will have a long way to go to change the whole way of App Development, but that’s okay. I’m seeing the potential of transforming a Figma prototype into a real app, but they’re still too many limitations, the main weakness is the limitation of functions you have, but as I said that’s something Bravo can change, but It’ll cost a lot of time.

Is No-Code the Future

I think, yes.

Let me explain: Coding is something very complicated you have to learn for years and most of the people who want to have a website or an app don’t have that much time and passion. Moreover, No-Code tools are getting better every day and that’s great I also use them, but I’m still coding, because some things are just too complicated to create with a No-Code tool.

To sum up, no-code will revolutionize the way websites will be built, but won’t unemploy the whole coding industry. (No-Code Tools can’t be developed with No-Code Tools ;)
